DESCRIPTION:India Washington, a local Detroit Police Officer, offers a variety of dance styles including: hip-hop, tap, modern, and gospel. Through the art of dance, youth are able to express themselves as well as staying physically fit, all while being educated on the history of various dance forms around the world. Alexandira Somers is an educator with Detroit Public Schools during the day and volunteers her time to instruct tap dancing to students. The program runs Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm – 5pm.\n
