SUMMARY:Notes for Notes : Detroit Music History (Summer Elective, 1st Session)
DESCRIPTION:Students will learn about the history of Detroit through studying various eras in its musical history. A typical week will include 1 day of lecture and 2 days of recording/research projects. Students will demonstrate pamiliarity with the content through either a research project completed each week or participating in writing and performing a song in the style of that weeks genre. Additionally, we’re hoping that students will be able to take field trips to a couple of iconic Detroit music Landmark.\n
