Angel Kelly

Program Assistant

Angel Kelly joined the SAY Detroit Play Center team in December of 2023 as an Education Program Assistant. In this position, Angel supports SAY Play by coordinating and implementing program objectives. She plays a vital role in the success of the Digital Educational Enrichment Program (D.E.E.P), which provides students in grades 3rd through 12th with homework help/tutoring, mentorship, and academic enrichment. She is committed to assisting the youth in the community by teaching them the tools to possess upstanding principles to progress in their future endeavors and education advancement.

In 2021, Angel graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Drawing with interests in Japanese and Psychology. Since 2015, she has taken on roles focused on community outreach and engagement, mental health resources, education progression, and Autism Spectrum Disorder at Attendant Care Autism Services, The Children’s Center of Wayne County, Wayne State University, Hope House Detroit, and Hope Community Outreach and Development.

Due to various life experiences, Angel has been passionate and dedicated to strengthening the bonds of her community through engagement, youth outreach, and positive consciousness. She also harnesses her passion for the arts as a contemporary portrait artist and muralist around the Detroit area. She works diligently to cultivate her craft and utilize various other artistic outlets while building connections to her community, breaking stigmas, and spreading the importance of self-love and self-acceptance.

In her free time, she volunteers with organizations throughout the Detroit-Metropolitan area to bring much-needed free resources to low-income families, spread mental health awareness, and cultivate art initiatives to build up the community she’s come to know and love.
